Vision for future of Aspen airport begins with public process
Posted December 10, 2018By: John Kinney, Aspen/Pitkin County Airport Director
Pitkin County is embarking on a community engagement process that will help define the vision for the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport for the next 30 years. At the center of this process is you, the community, the people who live, work and visit Pitkin County. I have already met with many of you, or maybe you have attended a presentation and heard me speak about the challenges and what is at stake for the future of the airport. learn more »
TIMELINE AND HOW DID WE GET HERE?
THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT APPROACH IS DESIGNED AROUND FOUR KEY PRINCIPLES:
1) Focus on Community-Oriented Solutions, through engagement and consultation.
2) Understand Project Facts, starting with a common understanding of technical information to guide dialogue about trade-off decisions.
3) Collaborate Around the Airport’s Future, develop a structured process for substantive and meaningful dialogue.
4) A Better Experience for Everyone, make investments that result in better experiences for airport patrons.
